Physical copies

The Chosen Ones / Veronica Roth

This was in my May book box. I hated it and put it aside after only 2 chapters. [dnf]

last emperox

The Last Emperox / John Scalzi

From the local book store. I was happy they had it – it just got published and is the last part of the Interdependency Trilogy. But not my last Scalzi!

Calling on Dragons / Patricia C. Wrede [read]

The third part of the Enchanted Forest series and so far my least favourite. Now there is only one last book left.

Reaper Man / Terry Pratchett [read/re-read]

The 11th Discworld novel and one I might have enjoyed more on my 2nd read. The wizard keep entertaining me WAY too much!

paladin

The Paladin / C.J. Cherryh

I liked the sample and bought it. Not my first Cherryh, but I haven’t read her books in a while. I needed some strong, sword-fighting women in my life. This one has an Asia-inspired setting and we follow the main character who is learning how to become a warrior.

This is a small haul, but I concentrated on my existing TBR!

  1. I’ve just read the first of the “Enchanted Forest” novels to my nieces (7 and 5), they loved it (well, the older one definitely, the younger one was not paying attention some of the time 😉 ). We used Zoom, and it worked great 🙂 I have parts 2 and 3 prepared, you say the third one is weaker?

  2. Calling on Dragons is the one with the donkey? Yeah, my least favorite too, but the last book makes up for it! (Still love the first book most of all). So sorry Chosen Ones didn’t work for you! I actually loved it. And yay for more Scalzi!! I can’t wait to see what he writes next. Enjoy your amazing new books!
