February 2020

Another great month for me – I can’t believe it!

I read 6 books which makes my total 13. Already more than half of what I read in all of 2019. I just really, really enjoy reading at the moment.

February 2020

This doesn’t include my audio books and I think it’s not broken too much anymore.

All the books I read:

  1. Made Things / Adrian Tchaikovsky ★★★★★ (5/5)
  2. Dead Beat. Dresden Files 7 / Jim Butcher [Audio] ★★★★ (4/5)
  3. Force of Nature. Aaron Falk 2 / Jane Harper ★★★★ (4/5)
  4. Mairelon the Magician / Patricia C. Wrede ★★★★★ (5/5)
  5. The Magician’s Ward / Patricia C. Wrede ★★★★★ (5/5)
  6. Down Among the Sticks and Bones. Wayward Children 2 / Seanan McGuire [Audio] ★★★ (3/5)

  1. Schooled in Magic / Christopher Nuttall (Review)
  2. The Amber Spyglass. His Dark Materials 3 / Philip Pullman

I just can’t talk myself into picking up the Pullman again. It was way too boring.

Dropped from the TBR

  1. The Mysterious Affair at Styles / Agatha Christie
  2. The Murder on the Links / Agatha Christie

I didn’t feel like reading any more of those, they are a bit too dry for my taste and there’s too much talking going on. I don’t like Poirot. He’s like that smug detective that Poe invented. To into himself and just needs to keep on talking about how he’s so clever and figured everything out. Makes me fall asleep.

Books bought: 5

TBR: 8

Go Big or Go Home Challenge: 1 (Dead Beat by Jim Butcher – 517 pages)

Discworld Challenge: 0

Reading at the moment:

the great hunt

STILL this. I’m almost done though. I experienced some minor slumps during Nynaeve’s Aes Sedai test and Rand’s adventures through the stone. I’m still pretty annoyed at that stupid Game of Houses but let’s get through it!

Do I have plans for March? Yes, actually! I want to listen to 2 audio books again. They are already picked out:

The 8th Dresden Files novel and the 3rd part of Seanan McGuire’s Wayward Children Series. I found the previous parts easy & fun to listen to and will stick with them until I get tired^^

I am still waiting for my order from bookdepository and will probably read all 3 books in March! I show them to you when they’re here 🙂 I didn’t plan to read any of the Wheel of Time but I might reconsider.

I worked a whole lot more in February as we were short on staff so it’s even more impressive that I was able to read as much. I didn’t watch too much wrestling but was looking forward to the New Japan Cup tournament in March… which has now been cancelled due to the Coronavirus.

Have some dog pics:

Walter is all smiles 🙂

Wilma is showing off her new ribbon and name tag!

My furry Kindle holder^^

Some coffees I made at work

A collection of eggs from my girls ❤
All of my Funko Pops!
A customer gave me roses from his garden 🙂
Some interesting syrup I ordered at work!

I hope you all have a lovely March with tons of great books to read!

  1. Don’t want to discourage you, but if you’ve slowed on WoT, maybe a month off of it would be a good thing?

And you’re in good company for dropping Poirot. That character is just an ass!

Man, that coronavirus is affecting a lot of different things around the world. There was supposed to be some sort of videogame/game conference/whatever thing down in Boston and I believe it has been cancelled due to companies pulling out because of corona fears.

    1. Funny thing is – I can’t put it down right now! Those books are rollercoasters^^ I’m at the point where those Seanchan got Egwene. Dumb girls trusting Liandrin^^

I also heard that some airlines cancelled all their flights to Japan until the end of April! 😮

      1. I had forgotten that the Seanchan were introduced so early in the series. I wasn’t expecting them for another book or two. That is why re-reads are a good thing 😀

Yeah, international travel is getting hit HARD. makes me glad I’m a stay at home homebody…

  2. Your dogs are adorable! *_* And I like the graphic from Bookly!!!
And you keep remembering me (with your tweets especially) that, sooner or later, I would have to go back to the Wot series. I just refuse to left it unfinished, even if it means starting from the first book again (and I have to admit that this thought sometimes fill me with despair!)

    1. Haha, you are exactly like me! I’ve spent lots of time with WOT in the past but always dropped it at some point.. I only picked it back up because of the TV show coming soon and it was the right time for it cause now I’m hooked 🙂

  3. I was supposed to go to China for work this summer then we were going to do a family trip to Japan. Not happening now…

I should pick up The Great Hunt one week from now.
