Top Ten Tuesday: Most anticipated releases 2020

The Sun’s Domain. Book 3 of the Hollow Gods / Rebecca Levene (October 8th)

suns domain

…This has been on my list for 3 or 4 years now I think. I don’t trust the date. It was supposed to be published years ago and I don’t know what happened. I even sent an e-mail to the publishers but no reply. It sucks if they cancel the LAST part of the trilogy. And this is really, REALLY good.

Unconquerable Sun. The Sun Chronicles 1 / Kate Elliott (July 7th)

unconquerable sun

I just found out that Elliott’s Dark Wolves series got cancelled by the publisher. Sad, I kinda liked it! But then this here sounds really cool as well. It’s a Space Opera and described as Alexander the Great in space. Sign me up! And please don’t cancel after 1 book! Or that’s it with me & the author. Even though it’s not really her fault..

The Rhythm of War. Stormlight Archive 4 / Brandon Sanderson (November 17th)

No cover yet.

SO HYPE, SO EXCITED! Thank you, Mr. Sanderson, thank you so much!

The Tyrant Baru Cormorant. Baru Cormorant 3 / Seth Dickinson (June 9th)

I haven’t read book 2 yet, but am more likely to pick it up soon now as the trilogy will be concluded! Cover looks lit!

The Burning God. The Poppy War 3 / R.F. Kuang (October 1st)

No cover yet

Ooooh, I didn’t expect this to come out this year! What a nice surprise!! I hope it’s the conclusion.

The Thorn of Emberlain. Gentlemen Bastard Sequence 4 / Scott Lynch (September 17th)

Yeah nah. I won’t get my hopes up. This has been happening the last couple years.

Doors of Stone. Kingkiller Chronicle 3 / Patrick Rothfuss (August 20th)

doors of stone

Apparently the date ‘leaked’. But I don’t know. It’s probably just to shut up the fans for a while. I believe it when I hold the book in my hands!

Look, this is probably just book depository making up dates, but I gotta fill up this list!

  1. Great list! I finally read The Lies of Locke Lamora last year and I’m so excited to continue with the series – I’m trying to pace myself, though, because I know Lynch releases a book every 84 years. And if The Doors of Stone is coming out this year that means I can finally give The Name of the Wind a try! What a shame for Kate Elliott – it must be so frustrating to have a book series cancelled before you can bring it to a close! I hope she eventually finds a way to either find a new home for it or self-publish it for her fans.

  2. Fingers crossed that the Kate Elliott book will get the love it deserves! Cancelled series like that really make me sad.

And good luck with the Lynch and Rothfuss books. But I know what you mean about it probably just being something to placate the fans.

  3. Oh, interesting about the Rothfuss book! I haven’t started the series yet. I made a big pronouncement (to a friend who’s been pushing the books on me for years) that I won’t start them until there’s a confirmed publication date for #3. Oops, looks like I may need to finally do it!
