I’m late again! You won’t believe the week we had. Especially yesterday was wild. Anyways, I wanted to write so many blog posts, but in the end, did not have any time for it!
Let me just say, that I’m still loving the book SO MUCH! Even more now- it’s just the perfect mix and I’m loving all the ideas! So fantastical, so mysterious, just GREAT! Please go and read this book 😉
Vintage’s journal entries at the start of each chapter seem to be filling in more backstory for our heroine, but what do you think of this approach to providing information about her? Are these entries fascinating, or distracting?
They are SO helpful! Especially the last ones about the history with the Jure’lia. They are also never too long to feel like info dumping. I’m actually really looking forward to those!
I also like the entries that address Vintage’s relationship with her mysterious Eboran girlfriend. It’s probably very tragic.
More details emerge about what happened at the end of the Eighth Rain… What do you think happened to (or between?) the Jure’lia queen and Ygseril?
I guess that the Queen somehow took over Ygseril? As in, she went into the tree? Like that chick in the Shannara Chronicles!
And now it seems that the god-tree still lives. Or does it? What’s your take on what Hestillion is doing, and what do you think she’s going to do with her surprise guests?
I guess she’s feeding their blood to the tree. But it’s actually not Ygseril anymore, but evil-Ygseril. As in, the Jure’lia Queen who took over the tree god. So that the Eborans can’t have war beasts anymore or the Jure’lia can get them for themselves?
And I am not sure whether Hestillion is in on it. In any case, I guess she doesn’t have nice things planned… But whether she made a deal with the Queen or she just goes with what the tree says.. I don’t know! I love it though.
Make love, not war. Or, if you’re Tormalin the Oathless, do both. How do you feel about the particular mixture of Tor’s skills, and what do you make of his interactions with Noon so far?
Is he starting a romance with Noon? I don’t know how I’d feel about that! If it’s a slow-burn I’d probably be okay with it.
I love Tor as a vicious fighter more than I love Tor the cocky sex & blood addict.
If I’d write a Fantasy crossover I’d team him up with Phedre from Jacqueline Carey’s ‘Kushiel’-series. They have similar skills in the bedroom.^^
…I’m sorry for the short post this week, but I will be boarding a plane in a couple of hours to go to Bali 🙂 Will be in touch though, if the internet is decent!
