This month went over SO quickly! I was really happy about how I was doing in the first half – related to blogging & reading. In the second half… not so much.. buuuut we are moving to our new place tomorrow! If nothing happens last minute (which might, there have been enough complications already). IF we end up moving, you might not hear much from me for 1-2 weeks, as we haven’t ordered our new internet yet. It’s on the list for tomorrow though and shouldn’t take long. I’ll be on twitter & instagram over my phone though, depending on how good our reception is π
I hope I can show you guys a lot of pictures pretty soon!
So how much did I read this month?
Saga, Vol. 7 / Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples –> finished! Oh god, that was one of the best ones and probably the most emotional & sad!
Wrath of Empire / Brian McClellan –> finished! Brilliant, and now I’m all caught up!
Leviathan Wakes / James S. A. Corey –> finished! Also lots of fun and I will continue with the series at some point.
Winter of the Witch / Katherine Arden –> 51% in. Ummm.. I might be stuck? Haha, I can’t concentrate on reading very well right now. Let’s hope it’s getting better again once we’re settled.
I don’t plan to read a lot next month.. but if I have some time, I’d like to start those:
Let’s see how I go! I haven’t started an audio book yet, but that’s also the plan for February. I pick either Juliet Marillier or Seanan McGuire!
Apart from reading, this month has been pretty enjoyable. We made some nice food at work…
I had the BEST ‘Bloody Mary’ on earth!
..and one of our customers showed me a book from her collection. (She’s almost 90 and of course this one has a new title nowadays…I think they changed it in the 70s?)
We went doggo-sitting…
…and tried not to melt in 47 degrees!
It actually cooled down to 18 today and I am freezing. Sunday it should be up to 38 again. Melbourne is at it again!
One of the coolest things that happened this month was me meeting one of my absolute favourite wrestlers, Jimmy Havoc. He came to work for ‘Melbourne City Wrestling’ and I was able to have a little chat, take a pic and buy some of his merch.
Yes! I met the dude who’s on my shirt!! And he was really cool, I will definitely go see him again when he’s here.
Here he’s in the ring:
I need to stop buying so many wrestling shirts, I have WAY too many already and there’s so many more I want to have… Why do they have to look so cool?
Going to wrestling shows is one of our favourite things right now! Last year I was able to meet a couple of cool wrestlers already, like famous dick wrestler Joey Ryan (who was unfortunately injured) & WALTER, who is now signed to NXT UK. Watching WALTER live made me an instant fan! I was fortunate to see him before he signed his new contract.
They were SO NICE AS WELL!
………….
Now some sad news…. I’m going to retire Hiroshi Tanahashi….. Because this hairstyle is just not okay!
You can’t just go red like that!
But no worries, I will replace Tana! I am just not sure with whom yet….. It’s either Minoru Suzuki (grumpy old MMA Fighter turned pro wrestler who loves coffee & socks and thinks he’s a ‘One Piece’-character… I think he now actually IS a character in ‘One Piece’)
or Kota Ibushi (looks the same since 2008 I think, so no interesting hair-do. But he does a lot of goofy stuff, wears clothes that are more expensive than my car, moonsaults off absolutely everything and likes to set himself or others on fire)
It is not easy!
Looks like you had a great month! What do you do for work? And good luck with the move, try to enjoy it π

Thanks! We own a catering business and are employed in a retirement village, but Mr. DZ is the chef, I just help here & there π

YESSSSSS!!!!
My plan, as the nemesis of Hairyhashi, worked!
On a serious note, congrats on the upcoming move. Sucks to be without internet for a couple of weeks but I guess you’ll just appreciate it more when you get it back. Too bad some of those big wrestler guys couldn’t help you move. I bet they’d do like 6 boxes at a time or something…

Hahaha, thank you!
I guess some of the wrestlers could carry a whole truck! But I’d be scared they will be tempted to suplex & pin my fragile boxes!
I hope you will miss Tanahashi in a couple of weeks & beg me to bring him back ππ

Miss Hairyhashi? I think not!
*laughs maniacally while rubbing hands together*
I actually hadn’t thought about the wrestlers proclivity for throwing things down, so probably a good idea they’re not helping π

Fun post! Isn’t it interesting how the book “And Then There Were None” has undergone its title changing? It started as “Ten Little Niggers”, then transformed into “Ten Little Indians” and then “And Then There Were None”, and the song morphed into “Ten Little Soldiers” too. I come from Russia, and I don’t think they ever changed the title there.

I love the Saga series. I can’t wait to make it to volume 7 now!

We had a wind chill of -40 degrees Fahrenheit today. I think I would almost prefer 47 degrees Celcius. Almost.

Fun fact! -40 degrees Fahrenheit is also -40 degrees Celcius.

Ugh, I couldn’t deal with that! How’s your heater coping? How do you not freeze to death outside?

Heater is holding up well, although the power company is warning us to turn down the thermostat because the entire region is running low on gas.
The trick to outside is lots and lots of warm clothes. Or, better yet, donβt go outside at all.

*starts chanting* The Wolf in the Whale! The Wolf in the Whale!
And I don’t know much about the world of Japanese wrestling, but every time I see more pictures on your blog of the wrestlers dressed like they could have stepped right out of a Final Fantasy game, I grow more intrigued.

I mean I’d go for Ibushi.
Hopefully you are busy moving tomorrow!

Fingers crossed for the move! I don’t blame you for not planning much in the way of reading, since you have so much else going on. It looks like January was a great month for you, though!

Well my vote is for Kota Ibushi, if we’re voting, cause of that pic on the right.
Gonna miss the posts about Tanahashi and his hair.
