Sooo, this is something I’ve been thinking about for a while. When I was still blogging in German, there were always several bloggers who participated in a weekly Read-A-Thon during December. I took part in it several times & always enjoyed it.
It basically invites you to take some time off on Saturday & Sunday to enjoy reading & blogging. Most people do that anyways at the weekends (like me^^) but it’s more of a social event, as it encourages you to talk about it and visit other blogs to see how they go.
You are free to just post once a day or even once a weekend & update the post during the day OR even do several posts. I don’t know why, but Christmas seems like a perfect time to do that and relax. Also, people are on holidays & have more time and if you don’t, you need the weekend to relax even more 😀 I always had fun posting about my reading progress during the day & what else I was up to, as well as seeing all the other bloggers’ posts!
Would anybody be interested in something like that at all?
I’ll probably do it anyways this year, but if some people join, it would be even nicer!
I will start at the 17th of November & if you want to take part, just leave a link to your blog. I will collect & tag you each week in my post, so we can visit each others’ blogs 😉
And no pressure! It doesn’t matter whether you only have limited time or are only free on one day. This is about consciously taking time to read & blog. If you want to set yourself a goal, that is fine as well!
I even made a very professional banner^^
Read with me?? 🙂
I actually picked 3 books that I want to read in November. Normally I don’t plan so far ahead, but I really want to read all 3 of them at the moment and I am reading them kinda simultaneously^^
On my Kindle I am reading Skyward by Brandon Sanderson. I am about 12% in and loving it so far! The setting is great, the main character a bit of a dick, but she JUST met a really sweet secondary character, so that is fine. They are just starting flight school and it reminds me of ‘Ender’s Game’.
I started 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami as well. My first book by the author and it’s fun to read and pretty captivating so far, even though I have NO clue, what it’s actually about. The blurb doesn’t tell me much. I’m curious.
And, of course, there’s Wrath of Empire, which will probably be awesome.
