Top Ten Tuesday: Cartoon villains

Here are some that gave me nightmares when I was a kid! (Or later^^)

That Rabbit from Watership Down

I don’t remember the name, but I googled ‘scary rabbit from Watership Down’ and here you go:

I will just go and cuddle my rabbits and tell them how precious they are!!

Scarface / The Animals of Farthing Wood

..or like the whole gang of blue foxes.

This was one of my all time favourite shows as a kid, and it was hugely popular in Germany. I had lots of magazines and merch. I wish I still had some of it. One was this cool alarm clock. still scared me and made me super sad a lot of times!

The Witch / Snowwhite

Look, I probably didn’t get nightmares from her, but she WAS pretty scary and I remember my friend from kindergarten/primary school started crying when we watched the movie at home.

Ursula / The Little Mermaid

Those tentacles freaked me out when I was little and I was not brave enough to watch the movie until I was a older. The picture on the vhs scared me too much^^

..and here are some that are likeable, even though they are playing the ‘bad guys’

The Ice King / Adventure Time

ice king

He’s just so goofy & loveable and only wants to find true love! His method aren’t always so great though and he’s a bit of a creep as well. I remember once he ordered a hitman, because he wanted someone to HIT Finn & Jake as they were mean to him. Aw.

He also writes fanfiction.

Plankton / Spongebob Squarepants

Plankton is so adorable and so nerdy & angry, I love him!

Vegeta / Dragon Ball Z

For most of the show Vegeta plays the role of the anti-hero, but he started out as a villain. I liked him even then and he remains my favourite DBZ character up to this day.

  1. Vegeta was one of my faves too, but I had a really weird obsession with Frieza when I was a kid πŸ˜› DBZ evokes such happy childhood memories. Still one of my favourite shows ❀ Also, I've heard things about Watership Down and that screenshot has made me even more reluctant to watch it!

      1. I once described Frieza as my “first anti hero love” to my friend and he was just like “Erm, no, he’s just a villain, end of.” He just had a such an air of badassery around him πŸ˜›

  2. I love the spin you put on this topic! And gosh, I haven’t read Watership Down in a while but I thought it was just about fluffy rabbits…maybe I’m forgetting about that big angry one!

  3. Hardy har har! That scary rabbit made me laugh so hard. I love that book and have read it multiple times. I only saw the animated movie once. Perhaps the scary rabbit is why. Goodness what a choice those cartoonists made. Thanks for the belly laugh. I needed it. Arrr!

  4. I never even watched the full Watership Down cartoon, but STILL that rabbit scarred me so much that I haven’t read the book yet even though it’s been recommended to me multiple times.
