I am very sorry that you get to read so little from me at the moment. And so little that is related to books.
House-hunting is more stressful than I thought. I can’t relax, because it’s constantly on my mind. We also did a big spring cleaning yesterday and try to keep our house clean now for an upcoming inspection. We still plan to rent it out. That’s why I don’t read a lot and don’t blog a lot right now. I promise it will get better again. Just bare with me 🙂
If we are lucky, we can make a decision tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
I still did a little reading last week. I decided to join Melanie’s Bday Buddy Read and picked up The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson. I am only at the start of chapter 8 now, but I’m enjoying it a whole lot! It’s pretty captivating and Baru is a character I enjoy reading about.
Tomorrow, on the beach, Baru Cormorant will look up and see red sails on the horizon.
The Empire of Masks is coming, armed with coin and ink, doctrine and compass, soap and lies. They will conquer Baru’s island, rewrite her culture, criminalize her customs, and dispose of one of her fathers. But Baru is patient. She’ll swallow her hate, join the Masquerade, and claw her way high enough up the rungs of power to set her people free.
To test her loyalty, the Masquerade will send Baru to bring order to distant Aurdwynn, a snakepit of rebels, informants, and seditious dukes. But Baru is a savant in games of power, as ruthless in her tactics as she is fixated on her goals. In the calculus of her schemes, all ledgers must be balanced, and the price of liberation paid in full.
We had a nice couple of days here in Melbourne. Mornings are still freezing cold, but later on it gets quite sunny and warm. I am looking forward to spring!
The other day I picked up my Switch again and here we go – I am addicted to Breath of the Wild again. It works a bit better than reading for me at the moment. I don’t have to concentrate so much.
Our housemate and I are almost done watching Yuri! on Ice (when Mr. DZ is not there^^) and I think we are fans now. It also reminds me of a certain wrestling storyline, so I’m happy. I will probably start another anime after that. Not sure which one yet! I will trial a couple from my list. I also still want to watch the movie Your Name. Everyone is talking about how good it is, so I gotta see for myself.
We were missing wrestling so much after the G1 ended, that we checked out Summerslam… Apart from the main event it was alright and we even decided to watch Raw the night after… just to get super annoyed and immediately drop it again. Probably for good now. NJPW is soon having shows again and then there’s this……
‘All In’ is a massive indie wrestling event taking place in Chicago this coming Saturday (for me it’s Sunday morning^^). It was brought to life by Cody Rhodes & the Young Bucks and features talent like Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Pentagon Jr, Rey Mysterio, Kota Ibushi and tons more. It sold out within minutes and is going to (hopefully) change the wrestling world for the better. I am really excited to see it and can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
