June 2018

Ugh.. June was a busy month! It always is, being the last month of the financial year.. It was also the first month of winter and we had some super cold days. So at least it went over quickly. Winter always seems like it’s lasting forever normally, so that’s a good start.

I read a total of 1 book, which is even worse than last month.

Here is what I read:

Sins of Empire / Brian McClellan –> finished! My Review. Awesome book, really got me hooked on Flintlock Fantasy. I sneaked into Wrath of Empire already.

Empire Ascendant / Kameron Hurley –> 90%. I will finish this book today, so that makes it a good start into July. Wild read.. VERY wild. Writing a review will be interesting, but I will make an attempt later.

What I plan to read in July:

Actually, this time I do have book I want to read as soon as I can. Those 4 here:

Sheepfarmer’s Daughter / Elizabeth Moon –> This is my priority book, as I am buddy reading it with Zezee from Zezee with Books. I will start today and am really looking forward to it! Hope it’s a neat, classical Fantasy adventure with interesting characters. I’ve never read Elizabeth Moon before, but seeing that she wrote so many Fantasy novels, I thought it was about time I tried one πŸ™‚ And buddy reading & discussing it is even more fun πŸ™‚

Wrath of Empire / Brian McClellan –> Of course I need to read this, after I loved everything by the author and I only hear Wrath is even better than Sins^^

The Poppy War / R. F. Kuang –> I’ve talked about it a lot recently and will see whether it can live up to my (high) expectations. I really hope that I will like it.

The Last Sun / K. D. Edwards –> I don’t know. It just sounds like something I really want to read right now. And it got some really positive reviews lately.

..let’s hope I have picked 4 amazing novels there.

Mr. DZ and I haven’t really been watching any TV shows lately, but we will definitely get Netflix back this month to watch the second season of Glow. We already loved the first season and were waiting for the second. Hope it will be just as good. And hoping for some more cameos by pro wrestlers as well. Please give us Joey Ryan again!

And because I am not watching too much wrestling already… I checked out Lucha Underground on youtube and well.. I really like what I see. It’s a mix between wrestling promotion and TV drama and they are currently in the start of Season 4. I know a lot of wrestlers, but some are new to me and really amazing. I wish our Netflix would show it… I know it’s available (or was) in the US.

And then of course, there’s the G1 Climax tournament I already talked about last week. I will be watching wrestling almost every day, but that is totally fine with me πŸ˜‰

Now, in the end I’d like you to vote please. Which Tanahashi hair is the best? 1, 2, 3 or 4?

It’s hard, I know!

  1. I’m looking forward to reading your take on Moon. I really liked book one, but was disappointed in the next two, even if I rated them relatively high.

  2. Lol! #2 and #4 for me! Love those styles. #2 takes it though.
I read some of Sheepfarmer’s Daughter yesterday and am already liking it. Well, I like that it’s easy to read. I was afraid that it would be tedious reading but so far it’s not.
