Okay, so this was a good month. Not particularly in regards to reading, as I only finished 2 books and one was a novella. But I had a good time and liked what I read!
Here are the books:
The Autumn Republic / Brian McClellan –> finished! Review. I read it straight after finishing the second part and am glad I did! Those books are so much fun and I am in love with the characters & the world! I actually bought Sins of Empire and Wrath of Empire yesterday and want to read them soon.
The Mad Lancers / Brian McClellan –> finished! A novella about Ben Styke and how the Mad Lancers became a thing. I am always happy for more backstory and especially Styke was a character I liked immediately when I came across him in another short story.
Empire Ascendant / Kameron Hurley –> 37%. I don’t know. I don’t know what’s happening half of the time or who is who and in which world they are and who is attacking whom? But I am a bit in love with some of the characters & their stories especially Lilia and Taigan as well as Roh and Kadaan. It’s partly my fault because I waited so long to continue with the series, but also, it’s NOT that easy to understand sometimes with characters often existing in one world and then in the other and so many different names. In this case though it doesn’t bother me. I still want to read on. I see how I feel after I finish.
That’s it. It looks like I will continue with McClellan, after I finish Empire Ascendant, but who knows 😉 Maybe I feel like something else, so I don’t plan anything.
What I DID do though was play too much Breath of the Wild on my Switch! This game is more than amazing, I’m still blown away by it! Will write a more detailed post about it in the next couple of days, I need to share with you guys 😀 (I did actually play over 30 hours of this game this month… So… you know why I didn’t read a lot! I moved to Hyrule)
Yes, I am addicted to this game. I don’t think I’ll buy any other ones until I am done, which won’t be anytime soon.
I’ve also been watching a lot of New Japan Pro Wrestling again. They are currently having their yearly ‘Best of the Super Juniors’ Tournament and the matches I’ve watched so far were amazing! It highlights lots of wrestlers that are normally not in the spotlight and I’ve been impressed by most of them. Especially Hiromu Takahashi. This guy is so much fun. Especially when he thinks he’s a cat or throws tantrums. NJPW gets weird sometimes (which I like)…
Another thing.. I’ve been watching a lot of DDT Pro-Wrestling, and let me tell you, that is something else! Apart from being a serious & competitive promotion with great talent, they do matches in apartment building, in the woods, in a lake, at a market, or other non-wrestling places. They have an invisible wrestler, a ladder was champion and let’s not forget the great Yoshihiko. Here she came back as the Undertaker(?) and choke slammed the Golden Lovers:
They also love fireworks and bicycles. From what I’ve watched so far, which is mostly old Kenny Omega & Ibushi matches.
I haven’t been watching a lot of WWE, Smackdown and Raw have been boring, so we mostly just have it on in the background while we do something else. NXT is different – it’s been really good! Especially with Ciampa vs Gargano going into the second round and Ricochet & Velveteen Dream stealing the show.
