I just updated my wishlist and noticed that I don’t really have that many sequels on there. I do read a lot more first parts than follow up books. I am curious to see how many series I am still reading and excited for, so here’s the list!
It contains series I am planning to continue. I might just have read the first part or may even be in the middle and waiting for the next books to get published.
Dresden Files / Jim Butcher
I am currently listening to the audiobook of Blood Rites, which is the 6th part of the series. I got tired of it and had a big break before picking it up again. It DOES help that James Marsters is narrating. Also, my way to work will probably be much longer soon, so I am happy I can still listen to stories while I am driving. And I don’t want them to be too complicated either, or I stop concentrating on the road. The Dresden Files are perfect for me as audiobooks.
The War of the Gods / Jennifer Fallon
Here I am just waiting for the third part, Covenant, to get published in 2018. Not sure if this will be the end, as I read something about a possible 4th book. I would be happy if it goes on for longer, I am loving the series so far!
Manifest Delusions / Michael R. Fletcher
I wasn’t sure for a while, but I will give the second part, The Mirror’s Truth, a crack. Not quite yet though, I need a break from so much gore & violence and the butchering of the German language π
The Paper Magician Series / Charlie N. Holmberg
I was happy to see, that there will be a new novel set in the Paper Magician universe, coming out next year. It is called The Plastic Magician and as far as I know, will be about different characters. Not sure whether some of the familiar ones will have roles as well, but I would like it!
The Worldbreaker Saga / Kameron Hurley
I was impressed by the first book and will definitely continue with the second one, Empire Ascendant. I shouldn’t wait too long though, as I will forget what happened! It was a bit complicated at the start..
Reykjavik Murder Mysteries / Arnaldur Indridason
I only read the first one so far, but when I feel like a dark Scandinavian Thriller again, I will pick up Silence of the Grave to continue with the series.
The Hollow Gods / Rebecca Levene
I am waiting for the last book, The Sun’s Domain, and thought it would be published next month. But now it says March 2018! Aaaaah, I really need it, this trilogy is so awesome!
The God Fragments / Tom Lloyd
Princess of Blood is the second volume and although it will feature a character I don’t like, the banter was too good in book 1 and I want to read more.
Night Watch Series / Sergei Lukyanenko
Up to book 5, New Watch. I loved the first 4 books and might actually consider re-reading them all.
Sevenwaters Series / Juliet Marillier
I am up to the 5th book, Seer of Sevenwaters. It’s been a while since I read a Marillier book, but I need to feel especially romantic to pick it up haha
Powder Mage Trilogy / Brian McClellan
The second book, The Crimson Campaign, is super high on my list! As soon as my TBR is gone, I will read it and probably the third straight after. And then start with Sins of Empire!
Stormlight Archive / Brandon Sanderson
Can Oathbringer come out yet, please? I even stop my challenge for it.
Mistborn Series / Brandon Sanderson
Just waiting for the 4th and last Wax & Wayne novel, The Lost Metal, which will hopefully come out next year.
The Rithmatist Series / Brandon Sanderson
I am so looking forward to the second novel here! I hope Sanderson will work on it again soon.. This is probably the book I am most looking forward to, I want it even more than The Lost Metal.
Enchanted Forest Chronicles / Patricia C. Wrede
After I really enjoyed the first book, I need to continue. Those books are so light, easy & funny and make me happy π
Gentleman Bastard Series / Scott Lynch, A Song of Ice and Fire / George R. R. Martin, Kingkiller Chronicles / Patrick Rothfuss
…Please?
Re-Reads
Sword of Shadows / J. V. Jones
The Malazan Book of the Fallen / Steven Erikson
The Banned and the Banished / James Clemens
Harry Potter / Joanne K. Rowling
Discworld Series
That’s a good 23 including the series I am re-reading at the moment. So only 18 ‘new’ ones and 9 of them I can’t even continue with right now, because the next parts are not published yet.
Okay, so that means I can start tons more!!!
That final gif made me laugh!
I can’t figure out how to search on your themed site here. Oh, never mind, it’s below this.
Off to look at your Night Watch reviews…

…and I can’t find them. Am I searching wrong or do you not have any? Sometimes searching on WP is a royal pain…

That’s a lot of books to read lol. I wish I could read like that, currently I’m still finishing up The King’s Curse because I feel like I have no time to actually sit and enjoy the book haha. Good luck!

I love the Dresden series! I haven’t listened to the audiobooks, although I’ve been tempted because JAMES MARSTERS. I really enjoyed the Enchanted Forest books — I read them with my son a few years ago, and they were such silly fun. I should count up my ongoing series one of these days too!

James Marsters was the reason I gave them a try in the first place π I heard that the first couple of books are not as good to listen to, but he really rocks after. And I agree! I LOVE listening to him, he’s doing everything right π
Aw, I imagine reading them with your son would be awesome! Especially since they are books kids and adults can enjoy!
Please do make a post! I’d love to read it π

If I wrote out a list of all the series I had to complete, it would take multiple blog posts I think! I seem to have lost all urge to read recently and it is worrying me! I have a lot of series catch ups to do next year but getting motivated to do it is the problem!

Aw sorry to hear that! But nothing to do against reading slumps.. Maybe just re-read your favourite books? That might get you into it again. Reading the first Potters always got me out of slumps!

Wait, James Marsters does the Dresden Files audio books. Well then. If I do ever try audio books, I know what I’m going for…

That’s a lot of series! I do intend to try the Dresden Files again; I started it a while ago, got to book 2 or 3, and gave up. And the Enchanted Forest Chronicles are super fun! I really enjoyed those.
