I can’t remember any food in my books, but I happen to own the Discworld Cookbook (Nanny Ogg’s Cookbook), which includes food mentioned in the novels. So here are the ones that sound yummy or interesting! I actually haven’t cooked a lot out of it yet, but I love looking at it π
Distressed Pudding – made by Nobby Nobbs’ mum and other housewives of Ankh-Morpork! May vary but always contains bread, stewed fruit, treacle and custard. a version of Bread and Butter Pudding.
Strawberry Wobbler – Strawberry jelly, invented by Nanny Ogg herself! As always, it’s all in the presentation! Put into a long, thin glass, let it sit until it is firm and then serve with 2 scoops of ice cream.
Bananana Soup Surprise – It sounds kinda gross, banana with vegetable stock? I should actually give it a try! It’s more about the presentation- you cut the banana in half and stand it up on a plate before you pour the soup. Surprising, eh?
Primal Soup – Famous at Unseen University and even the gods are fans! It contains lots of different fish, garlic, veg and noodles. I don’t think I’d like it very much, as I’m not a big fan of seafood. I like salmon, tuna and fish n chips lol, but hate prawns and lobster.
Mrs. Colon’s Genyooin Klatchian Curry – This is a curry made by Morporkians who don’t actually have a clue what real curry is about. But they think they know. They’ve heard about it^^ This recipe is changed and nicer than the one described in the books. It contains peas and raisins!
Englebert’s Enhancer – Contains yogurt drink, soda water and vitamin c tablets. Good for hangovers, enjoy^^
Mrs. Gogol’s Clairvoyant Gumbo – It is made by the witch Mrs. Gogol who is convinced that it shows her the future^^ It’s a stew containing okra, vegetables, herbs, spicy sauce, bourbon and crab meat. If you give me enough bourbon, I can tell you the future as well.
Dried Frog Pills – Popular with Unseen University’s Bursar. Made from poisonous frogs. We are going to change it a tiny bit though and use egg white, icing sugar, cinnamon and food colouring.
Sticky Toffee Rat Onna Stick – Okay, so you go into the cellar and get yourself the biggest rat you can find…. haha, just kidding! We are changing the recipe up and use marzipan & other sweets to form a cute little rat instead!
Dwarf Bread – You need a hammer to do the Original^^ But we are just using flour, baking powder, water & black food colouring. We like to keep our teeth, thank you!
I don’t know abou Banana Soup Surprise….

What a fun topic! I’m not sure how many of these actually sound GOOD lol, but MAYBE Primal Soup- you know, depending on what’s in the batch at hand! No lobsters for me either.

Haha, there’s a lot going on in the Primal Soup! I’d leave out the yucky fish if I made it for myself π

I’ve always wondered about the Treacle in Discworld. I think Dwarf Bread is supposed to be an absolutely last resort before eating your shoes.
I run a monthly link up for books about food. You are welcome to link up your post at http://www.spiritblog.net/october-2017-foodies-read. We have a monthly giveaway for books about food awarded by a draw from all the reviews posted.

I never really took to the series sadly, so I don’t know any of these culinary options!

In some cases it’s probably better to miss out on them:D

I’ve read some of the books, but the food never stuck in my head. Maybe because I blocked the memories of things like the banana soup surpirse… π
