I know, I know, I am doing something different again. But I already did hidden gem books here.
And I couldn’t think of an interesting book topic, so I will give you my favourite (3)DS Games 🙂
Zelda – I am a big fan of the Zelda games and played every version for the DS. I am working on the 3DS games and am currently in the middle of Ocarina of Time 3DS. My favourite so far is without a doubt A Link Between Worlds, a great remake of my precious Super Nintendo game A Link to the Past.
Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons – I like the Harvest Moon franchise just as much as Zelda and have been playing the games since the 90’s and the Game Boy version. Lots has changed since, the company split into Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons and I am only playing the Seasons games now, as the graphics are so much better!
It’s hard to pick a favourite but I think in my Top 3 are Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning, Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness. I played all the other ones as well and enjoyed them mostly. Harvest Moon DS, the first one for the DS, was a big change to the previous versions and much more challenging! I especially liked the ‘cute’ version of it, that made it possible to play as a girl. Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar became boring after a while, although the graphics were adorable, but it was too repetitive. Tale of Two Towns was more fun, but running from one town to the other was a pain and building the tunnel took too long!
I am still playing Story of Seasons at the moment and am looking forward to the new game, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns.
Lifesigns. Hospital Affairs – This was so much fun! You played as a new Doctor in a hospital and the game consists of different episodes. You have to do operations with your stylus and can interact with the staff and patients. You do have different options and what you choose determines the next step. The game can go different ways, there’s no ‘wrong’ answer, which I liked a lot. You can also determine which of the ladies your character is dating or just choose none at all. It had a couple of different endings and I want to play it again now!
Professor Layton – I played the first 3 and loved them! Puzzle & mystery games are my favourites and Professor Layton had such a great story and characters and riddles & puzzles, it was awesome! I need to catch up on the games..
Cooking Mama – Cute and fun, if you were after something relaxing and not too hard.
Puzzle Quest. Challenge of the Warlords – Addictive!! Wonderful combination of story & puzzle! I think I never finished it, this game went on for so long, but it was great and challenging and you had lots of options when it came to weapons you’d use or spells.
Cate West: The Vanishing Files – A cool detective game! You had to search for items in pictures or spot differences. Was much harder than I thought!
Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver – Yeah, I played and loved the early Pokemon games, although I never even watched the show. I loved yellow and silver was my all-time favourite, so I was super happy when HeartGold and Soulsilver were published!
I did lose interest in the games after the 4th generation, I didn’t even like the games following the original gold & silver any more. What I loved about it so much was that you could travel back to the previous world! The new versions don’t have it. You have tons of Pokemon but only one world!
For me it was mostly about catching and raising my Pokemon, not so much about defeating the game. That’s why I always took ages to finish it. But it’s no fun in a tiny world with too many Pokemon…
Dragonball Origins – You were able to play the EXACT storyline! That’s what I loved so much about it. It was awesome and not too easy. The graphics were super cute as well if I remember correctly.
