Book Tag: The TBR Tag

I’ve seen Destiny from Howling Libraries do this tag and since I haven’t done one in a while I thought I’d do it as well!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I have this cute little journal, that includes every book on my TBR, books I read, books on my wishlist, coming soon etc. I also have my TBR listed on goodreads, but it’s often not up to date.

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

At the moment it’s more print books than ebooks. It changes constantly though. Mostly it’s pretty even.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

I just pick what I feel like. I can’t plan ahead. One day I might like to read an epic & long fantasy story and the other day I want a short story collection. Or a SciFi novel. I often read about 2 books at the same time, especially if they are long, so I can have some variety.

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest:

It might be Rogues by George R. R. Martin and Gardner Dozois. I think I have it for over a year now and only read about 4 of the short stories so far. I often take longer with short story collections.

A book that you recently added to your TBR:

Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan 2 weeks ago, after I read a couple of short stories by the author and liked them a lot!

A book that’s on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover:

I am not getting tricked by beautiful covers anymore 😀 So nothing really.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading:

Why would I buy a book I never plan to read?

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for:

If I had to pick one from my wishlist it would be Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson.

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you:

The closest would be Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan. Lots of bloggers I follow read the trilogy and loved it. I totally understand why, if it’s as good as the short stories I read.

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you:

And the same again 😀 My TBR is only small, so this is pretty boring actually. But the other books on it are not very popular as far as I know.

A book on your TBR that you’re just dying to read:

I REALLY feel like Black Sun Rising by Celia Friedman right now. It’s a Science Fiction/Fantasy and promises to be really epic. I might just start it even though I am reading 2 other books at the moment.

The number of books on your (goodreads) TBR shelf:

6!! 😀 Why did I even do this tag?! Haha! I thought it might be interesting for someone who doesn’t have a massive TBR 🙂 My wishlist, on the other hand, is over 80.

      1. Nah. It was too hard 😀 I did like one question and then gave up. I need to wait until the “creative mood” strikes. And that happens once or twice a year and then I use it to write a review that is completely different from my normal. I am not holding out much hope.

  1. Awesome answers 😀 So many people are excited for Oathbringer and I’m just here like I haven’t even read one Sanderson book yet xD I really need to pick up his stuff soon though because it all sounds awesome!
