#TheReadingQuest: Week 1

My summary for the first week of #theReadingQuest by Read at Midnight.

The first week is ovenorse mythologyr and I did pretty well! I finished 2 books and started with another one. This is great for me, considering I only had one day off so far since the challenge started.

I finished Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman and enjoyed it a lot. The short stories were interesting, funny, very well written and gave me a good impression on the myths of the Norsemen. It featured Thor & Loki a lot and I love that Thor was portrayed as a dumb brute πŸ˜€ So if you want to know a little bit more about Norse mythology, how Thor came by his hammer, what mischief Loki was up to and lots of other little stories, check this out!

I also finished Coraline by Neil Gaiman within a couple of hours and LOVED IT! Awesome little creepy story with a great setting & message. And it has a cat. Review will follow.

I started with Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski, which is a short story collection as well. I enjoyed The Last Wish and hope I will like the second book in the series just as much. I love Geralt but am a bit annoyed that freaking Yennefer turned up already. I can’t stand her and just want her to leave Geralt alone. It’s a better story without her and he’s a more likeable character without her!

I will maybe read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by Joanne K. Rowling at the same time as it will give me a break if Yennefer gets too annoying.
