Book Tag: THIS-IS-MY-TRUTH-NOW

I’ve been tagged again 🙂 This time by Haïfa from Booksprens. The blog is run by 3 lovely people and even features guest reviews. Check them out, their reviews are always worth reading and very entertaining 🙂

The tag was originally created by James from This is my Truth Now and asks you 12 tricky questions you have to answer or face a horrible alternative, which in my case would be to finish 3 books I DNF’ed over summer. And that won’t happen 😀

I won’t tag anyone, but will leave it open for anyone who is interested to ‘steal’ it.

Here we go…

Question 1: You’re on your way to a birthday dinner that your friends have thrown for you. When you arrive, your favorite author is having dinner by himself or herself and asks you to sit with them, before you even see your friends or they see you. You have two choices: (1) You can sit with the author but can’t tell your friends that you’ve abandoned them for three hours, or (2) Meet your friends and lose the only chance you’ll ever have to talk with the author. Pick one or the other — no exceptions or communication to your friends to tell them about the author — and explain why.

That may come as a surprise but I am not that interested in meeting my favourite authors. I have their books, that’s all I want of them 😀 I mean, I wouldn’t walk past them, if I saw them and would still be happy to meet them, but it’s not that important to me.

I would not leave my friends hanging, especially not when they organized something JUST for me, that would be very selfish.

Question 2: You’ve got an opportunity to spend a few hours alone “in your bedroom” with a character from any book you’ve previously read. The character tells you that (s)he would like to lock the door and spend some alone time with you. What book and character is it, and do you decide to enter the room and lock the door, or tell them you aren’t interested?

Uh, that’s hard. Is Mr. DZ allowed in the room as well? Then probably Khaleesi. But from the TV show. So that really doesn’t count.. Ok…

If it was just me, I’d pick Harry Dresden from Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files. If he’s in a room with a locked door, no one can try to kill him, right? See, I am doing something good here! He can also tell me of his adventures and I will brainwash him & tell him to stay away from that police woman.

Question 3: If you could turn any male character from one of your favorite books into a female character (or change a female into a male) in the book or book series, which one and why?

I would turn Cersei Lannister into a man. It could go either way. She might be like a copy of her dad but at least all of her rage about not being born a dude would be gone. Also, her relationship with Jaime would be very different.

cersei

Question 4: What blogger currently on your follower’s list (meaning they follow you too) do you admire the most and why?

There’s no one in particular, I like everyone I follow, or I wouldn’t follow them 😀

Question 5: If you could change any one decision your favorite book character made, what would it be and why?

DON’T THROW AWAY YOUR SWORD, KYLAR STERN! (Shadow’s Edge, Brent Weeks). I stopped reading at that moment, it’s still bothering me haha.

He’s not really my favourite though, so I go with what Fitz did in the end of ‘Fool’s Fate’ by Robin Hobb.

Question 6: If you could pick 1 character from a book and 1 character from a TV show you watch (that is NOT based on a book) to be in a relationship together, who would you choose, and why?

This is hard, there are so many that come to mind! Here you go, Evil Abed (Community) and Vin (Mistborn). Those 2 could take over the universe. Evil Abed has his clever mind, Vin her allomantic powers! It would work!

Question 7: It’s your last day on Earth. As you are about to cross that final finish line, a mysterious shadow appears, giving you a choice: (1) You can go move forward to whatever comes next for you [based on your own spiritual or religious beliefs], or (2) you can become a character in a book series and exist permanently doing whatever that author chooses to do with you in the book. Which do you choose, and if it’s option 2, reveal the book and author.

Easy, definitely 1 – I am curious to see what will happen. I believe death is not the end. It sounds much better than being a servant girl for example in George R. R. Martin’s work^^ I am not trusting any author 😀

Question 8: If you could steal a pet from someone in any book you’ve read, but had to replace it with a friend’s pet (meaning they wouldn’t ever see their pet again), would you do it?  If so, explain the who and why.

Aw, that sounds very mean, I’d never take anyone’s pet! But if I HAD to choose, I’d pick Nanny Ogg’s cat Greebo from Pratchett’s Discworld. He’s a rough fella with only one ear, a couple of scars and a fighting spirit. If I had Greebo, I’d be well protected. Assuming he will treat me like he treats Nanny Ogg!

Greebo

I’d give Nanny Ogg one of my chickens instead 😀

Question 9: If you could turn someone from your real life into a character from a book, who from your life, who in the book and why?

There’s this really annoying & inappropriate customer that comes to the cafe I work. He’s bullying the girls and used to take pictures of us. I’d  transform him into random character from ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ who gets eaten by a dragon first.

Question 10: Post a picture of the cover of a book you read in 2000 and the book you are currently reading now. (Note: if you weren’t alive in 2000, pick the first book you ever read and tell everyone what year it was from).

I was 12 in 2000 so there might be a good chance, I was reading this:

Same book, but when I was 12 I wasn’t able to read a whole book in English. Yes, Harry’s glasses look weird.

Question 11: Your favorite character (under 18) needs a place to stay for 3 months and asks you if (s)he could stay in your spare room (yes, you have one for the sake of this question). Who is it and what is the reason (s)he needs to stay with you?

Under 18? Let me think….. It’s JAKE CHAMBERS from ‘The Dark Tower’ by Stephen King and he needs some time from Roland being so grumpy all the time and repeating phrases at him. Thankee sai! He is allowed to stay for a while but only if he brings Oy.

Question 12: What is one superpower/magic skill that a favorite character of your has that you wish you had as well? What character, what power/skill and why? (you can change this question when added to your blog, but please let me know your answer to this question in the comments below)

I want to be a Mistborn like Vin and Kelsier. You can basically fly, are able to make yourself quicker or stronger and influence the feelings of people around you. I also heard it comes with a cool cloak.
