Yay, this is the first time I got an Award π Big thanks go to Zezee from Zezee with Books who nominated my blog. I appreciate it π
Here are all the questions and my answers:
What TV show are you currently hooked on?
Not really anything at the moment.. We lost interest in The Walking Dead which was a big hit for us a few years ago.. haven’t even watched the last 2 episodes of the current season yet. I think I really like Stranger Things but didn’t have the time to finish it yet.
Itβs now spring, which makes me think of spring flings. Do you tend to hop from book to book before settling on one to read, or are you decisive on what your next read will be?
We have Autumn here and I feel like reading a lot more traditional Fantasy at the moment as well as some Stephen King. I am reading 3 books simultaneously so you could say I can’t really make up my mind π
Are you able to listen to music while you read? Music makes me daydream, so it interrupts my reading.
Hmmm, sometimes it helps me, and sometimes I feel like you! It depends on what mood I am in. There are days where I daydream a lot and some where I don’t at all. Today for example I feel like listening to Guns ‘n’ Roses & reading π
Speaking of which, do you daydream often? If so, what are they about?
I do! And it’s about absolutely EVERYTHING π
What odd thoughts do you often mull over?
Nothing really comes to mind right now, sorry!
Do you have a bookish bucket list? If so, what are the top five things?
Not really, but there are a few book-related dreams & wishes. On top would be my own reading room/library. With lots of big shelves, bookish merchandise and comfy armchairs. I COULD have it right now, we do have enough rooms, but we plan on moving so I don’t want to build up something nice to leave it behind.
Whatβs the most unique book youβve ever read?
Recently for me, that was probably ‘The Martian’. Just because it transformed a (for me) boring topic with basically only 1 character into a captivating story that really impressed me.
Whatβs the first thing that attracts you to stories that later become favorites? For example, Iβve realized that the first thing that attracts me to stories that later become my favorites is how the author tells the story (not necessarily how they write). Those stories usually have a lot of exposition and details.
It’s always the characters! When I pick up a book that becomes a favourite I always immediately fall in love with the character/s.
Do you enjoy stories that do not have a definite ending? I find them very annoying but if you do like them, Iβm curious to know why.
It depends on whether the actual storyline is resolved and whether I have closure with the characters. I don’t mind open endings if they don’t leave any important questions unanswered. But if they don’t, I always feel like the author was lazy or didn’t have any ideas about how to solve certain mysteries at all.
Do you reread books? Why or why not?
I do! Because I love them and want to re-visit the world & characters π The other day I felt like starting Harry Potter all over again π I haven’t yet, but will do so soon!
When youβre deeply engrossed in a story and happen upon an unfamiliar word, do you pause to look it up, continue reading, or make note of it but continue reading with plans to look it up when done?
I used to do it a lot when I started reading in English because it’s not my first language. But then I didn’t have the experience I have now and still didn’t live in an English-speaking country. Nowadays I mostly have an understanding of unknown words from context. And it helps reading Fantasy because lots of words are made up anyways and you get used to it π If I’d read more complicated books, I’d probably still be looking up words!
Thanks again for nominating me π
I liked Stranger Things, and The Walking Dead just seems like a mess right now. I mean I’m still watching it but am so bored with the direction of the current storyline.
I like the sound of a reading room/ library too. I need one of those!

Oh, ihr wollt umziehen? Habt ihr nicht gerade erst renoviert?

Ah I felt the same way about the Martian- I’d never read anything like it before and hadn’t expected to enjoy it- but I loved it! Awesome post! Congrats on the award π

You’re so welcome! And I’m glad you answered the questions too. π
Stranger Things is so great. Definitely finish it. The ending made me eager for season 2 because …OMG! I wonder what will happen next!
And The Martian did the same for me. I put off reading it for a while because I thought I would be so bored and then I was surprised that I was hooked on Matt Watney and cheering him on.
I love great characters too and have also been in the mood to revisit Harry Potter. I want to try reading the books out of order though because I’ve never done that before. Have you?

Yea, I’m tempted to get an illustrated copy too but every time I see the price, I get discouraged.
