What I read
The Atlantis Gene by A.G. Riddle –> finished! Interesting & promising start, but gets more unbelievable the further we get. Annoying characters, ridiculous scenes, Deus ex Machina, can’t recommend it. [My Review]
Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet –> finished! by Charlie N. Holmberg –> Sweet little fairy tale with great heroine and satisfying ending. Lots of baking and magic! [My Review]
The Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen –> finished! VERY disappointing. The ending sucked so much, it left me annoyed and unsatisfied. I wasn’t happy with any of it and feel a bit cheated to be honest. It’s a shame because I really enjoyed the first 2 books and even most of the last. But that is not what I remember now.. [My Review]
Dune by Frank Herbert –> still 17%. I didn’t feel like it the last weeks but want to get into it again next month. It’s one of the books I’d like to finish.
That’s it. Only 3 books finished and 2 of them I didn’t like. Not a very good start.. I hope the books I choose for next month will be better! Talking about that.. Here’s what I want to read in Feb, apart from Dune (although it might change):
The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin –> Started last September and almost halfway through.. I almost forgot about it. After I finished the Tearling trilogy I am motivated to finish this one as well so I can start a couple new series.
Misery by Stephen King –> Can’t be without a King for too long.
The Copper Promise by Jen Williams –> Sounds like an interesting Quest Fantasy and I just started a sample.
Not much else to tell apart from that. We’ve been renovating the kitchen, watching a lot of Tennis, waiting for our chickens to finally start laying eggs.. 😉
