Finally, I am back! I was really annoyed that I had to work the last 2 weeks and decided that I needed a small holiday. I took 3 days off, including Saturday and will be back to work tomorrow 😀
At first I wanted to do nothing more than read but in the end I maybe finished a couple of pages the last 2 days and that’s it. I still had a good time – I cleaned the house, organized my important document folder (it was a mess) and worked a whole lot in the garden. I will show you some pics later. Really proud of everything we have growing this year. We even cut off some artichokes already!
My boyfriend and I decided to watch a horror movie on Thursday as it’s that time of the year again 😉 We picked the Conjuring but although it was promising in the beginning and we liked the setting, it was pretty lame and so many things didn’t make sense at all! And with this I didn’t even mean
1. Don’t go into a creepy blocked off cellar on your own when you’re hearing noises
2. Don’t keep creepy, cursed artifacts in a room in your house WHERE YOUR DAUGHTER IS SLEEPING NEXT DOOR!
3. Do research on the house you buy!!! And check for hidden creepy passages!
What annoyed me the most was the explanation on the demonic entities in the house. So apparently they were attached to the family and go with them if they move. So it doesn’t make sense for them to just move into another house. I get that. But then they DID move and apparently everything was fine then. And they didn’t get rid of ALL the demons in the end, but only ONE! I thought there were so MANY in that house! And also, is an exorcism now just reading Latin to the demon? I thought it was such a dangerous and complicated process! I can read Latin as well!
Too many holes in this story….
It’s SO hard to find some really scary movies nowadays. If you have suggestions, pleeease let me know! Old ones, new ones, I don’t care 🙂 As long as they are scary.
So today I will read from the following books:
I am 56 pages into Cell already and really like it, as the drama & gore start immediately! Someone tried to eat his dog on the first pages, come on! 😦 It’s a nice Zombie Apocalypse so far, where everything’s exploding at the moment and people are going nuts. The main character Clay is a comic book author so I am curious about how this plays into the story. Rogues has been sitting on my shelf for way too long, so I will definitely start it today as well. Just have to get through the first Abercrombie story..
It’s really, really warm and nice outside! I brought the chickens out and then sat in the sun reading for a little bit. I am now on page 101 of Cell and it’s great so far. Our little group that includes the main guy Clay, Tom and a teenage girl called Alice have just arrived at Tom’s house. They wanted to get away from the chaos in the city as everything’s burning and the infected people are either trying to kill themselves or others. By now they figured out that cellphones are responsible for people turning into Zombies. It’s interesting, as the people they encounter during their walk are mostly middle-aged, old, or infants.. Makes sense, as lots of oldies wouldn’t use cellphones.
I am sure they will try to get to Clay’s son soon as he owns a cellphone but apparently doesn’t use it very often. Clay hopes he’s still sane and won’t touch his phone until he’s there, but there’s no way of knowing that..
I like how the characters are bonding at the moment. Telling each other their backstory and trying to figure out what to do next. I will read on right now!
Total pages read: 45
Oh yess, this book is really, really good! So easy to read as well. I am on page 202 and our 3 friends are in New Hampshire now. They discovered more about the ‘Zombies’ and hooked up with 2 more survivors – a 12year old boy and an old professor. So the Zombies are only active during the day and they are developing some kind of group intelligence. Also, they like to listen to music. It’s all very strange so far, but interesting!
Apart from reading, I went shopping with my boyfriend after he came home from work as we are having a bbq on Tuesday! Will water the garden now and read some more!
Total pages read: 146
Update #3 – Sunday
No time to read so far, I had to work, but quickly wanted to jump in and show you some pics and tour some blogs 🙂
