hosted by the Broke and the Bookish
I don’t read many horror books, the only ones recently have been by Stephen King but then again, I read everything he writes π
On the other hand.. I LOVE Scary movies, spooky movies, horror movies, trash horror movies, movies that make me hide under the blanket and make me NOT answer my phone for a couple of days! (Why is it always phones..?)
A list with all I watched would be way to long, so I give you just a few of them.
If you like Japanese Horror with creepy little kids standing in the corner or scary-ass looking women with black long hair trying to eat you, those are the movies you have to watch!
The Ring & The Grudge & Dark Water & Shutter
If you like horror that takes place in scary houses or hotels, check out those:
1408 & Madhouse & Amityville Horror & Poltergeist
Into possession? Check out the following:

The Exorcist from 1973 & The Exorcism of Emily Rose & Stigmata
CREEPY PHONE STUFF!

One Missed CallΒ & When A Stranger Calls
…. and so many more!
*shudder* I’ve watched none of these, but they all look CREEEPY! I have seen the trailer for “When a Stranger Calls,” but haven’t rented it because, yeah, I’m not sure it’d be a “me movie.” I’m more about the happy. π
Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland!

π When A Stranger calls is actually a horror movies that doesn’t contain anything supernatural. If I recall that correctly. It’s still very tense and scary!

I’ve seen a few of these and I’m NOT a scary movie person. The Ring and The Grudge for sure were creepy as all hell and I may not have had my eyes open the entire time…awesome post!!

Haha, I always need to have a blanket close by to hide under π I love those kinds of movies, but sometimes I can’t watch! Especially when it deals with eyes.. I hate eyes! π

I have seen none of these though I think I own The Grudge. I’m not a big thirller reader either.
Great list. Should possibly try a few of these out on Monday. During the day.

Haha, during the day sounds good to me! I don’t pretend to be too tough – If I watch Horror movies on my own I prefer to do it not at night time!

Yes to all of these! I’ve watched a lot of Japanese horror when I was younger (now I’m too scared to do so) and the Grudge made me so paranoid, especially with under the blanket scene! I’m gonna be reading Ring by Koji Suzuki this weekend for a Halloween readathon though, it’d be nice to see the story from the book this time. Sadako Yamamura was the stuff of nightmares too.

Ooooh yes, that blanket scene! It’s supposed to be the ONLY safe place and then they take it away π Not cool! Curious about what you think of the Ring! Wonder whether it’s even more creepy than the movie! :-O

I loved When a Stranger Calls. And The Ring + The Grudge. But I must say that my favorite scary movie is Scream. Even though I’ve seen it a 100 times, it still scares me. π Great list, and thanks for sharing! π

The Japanese horror sounds good, although I’m not super big into horror generally. But a good scary movie… π These all sound very creepy.

One missed Call didn’t really creep me out… When I first watched the Ring and The Grudge… Im pretty sure I didn’t answer my phone for ages either, but I was a teenie bop π 1408 creeped me out too!

I’m such a baby about Horror Movies!! I watched The Ring and wanted to pee my pants. I don’t know if I’ve seen When a Stranger Calls or not… but that girl on the cover totally looks like Neve Campbell. I know it’s not, but that’s kind of creepy!!

The Ring and The Grudge both freaked me out!! I’m listening to The Exorcist on audio (a re-read for me), and I love it! I will have to re-watch the movie, because I haven’t seen it since I was a teenager. I also really liked the movie 30 Days of Night.

I like how you’ve sorted them π I’ve only watched a few of these, but all of them look very creepy from the poster alone, especially One Missed Calls’s poster.
